Diagnostic & Repair Services

Battery

We offer a full line-up of automotive battery services including predictive auto battery testing, auto battery maintenance and cleaning, and battery replacement.

Air Conditioning

Air conditioning systems are complex, and the system can fail in many ways. If your system is not working properly, we begin by diagnosing the problem and checking several systems. Once we’ve reviewed the problem with you, the repair process can begin.

Brakes

Proper maintenance of your brakes is paramount to auto safety. We do a thorough job of inspecting and repairing your brakes.

Engine Light

When you bring your car in because the check engine light is on, we hook your car up to a computer to scan for codes to determine the problem. These codes identify the system at fault, giving us a general idea of which system is causing the light to flash or stay on.

Clutch

Testing is the first step in figuring out what’s going on if you are experiencing a problem with the clutch. We offer this testing service as part of the initial assessment of the problems you may be experiencing with your clutch.

Diagnostics

The mechanical systems in most of today’s cars have a computer component. We use up-to-date scanning tools and laptop computers to help diagnose automotive problems. Because we stay updated on new technology, our advanced tools can exceed what some manufacturers can do.

Electrical Systems

From electric windows to the instrument display panel and the battery, everything on your vehicle that needs or supplies electrical power is part of a complex electrical system. The more precise you are in describing the problem, the easier we can diagnose the problem. We have a diagnostic sheets to help diagnose your problem.

Emissions/Exhaust

We check the system data to track down the problem and recommend repairs. For vehicles built before the 1990s, we use a four gas emissions analyzer and other test equipment to check out the emission system. We also make repairs for vehicles that don’t pass the Maryland Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program (VEIP).

Engine

Major engine repairs or replacements are very rare for vehicles that have a regular history of preventive maintenance. However, we do perform cylinder head repairs and engine replacements.

Fuel Injection

It is rare that the fuel injection system needs to be serviced. Today’s fuels keep injectors clean. If a problem does arise, we can diagnose the fuel injection system to find out what needs to be repaired. Injectors can fail due to leaking or an electrical issue.

Radiator/Cooling

If your car is overheating, we service and repair all items related to the engine cooling system. This not only includes the radiator but also the water pump, electric fan sensors & wiring, hoses, heater core, intake manifold & gaskets, thermostat & housings, and belts & idlers.

Steering/Suspension

Proper maintenance of your brakes is paramount to auto safety. We do a thorough job of inspecting and repairing your brakes.

Timing Belt

Timing belts should be replaced as part of a regular preventive maintenance program. The time and mileage replacement requirements vary from make to make and engine to engine.

Tire Repair

Proper tire care is often one of the most overlooked vehicle services. When your tires are inspected, make sure that your car is actually placed up on a lift to allow for a proper tire inspection. BA Auto Care offers tire servicing, inspection, replacement and repairs.

Tranmission

We service and repair both automatic and manual transmissions. If you think you are having a problem with your automatic transmission, be sure to complete our automatic transmission diagnostic form. This will specify the type of problem you are experiencing as well as when it’s occurring.

Wheel Alignment

The most appropriate time to balance your wheels is after a rotation. However, we check for signs of a wheel alignment problem every time you come in for preventive maintenance service.
